Use the following to have worship times together as a family each week.
Jesus and the
Children bible Story:
Mark 10: 13-16 bible Phrase: Jesus said, “Let the children come to me”
(Mark 10: 14).
Experience! Make paper plate puppets using paper plates, craft sticks, glue, and crayons or markers. Use them to play out the Bible story.
Pray!
Pray in unison: “Thank You, Jesus, for loving me.” Take turns praying for a friend Jesus loves.
Sing!
Sing “God Made Me,” “No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus,” or “Jesus Loves the Little Children.” Make funny faces on the word me.
Do!
Make sugar cookies. Give them to children in your neighborhood and tell them: “Jesus loves you.”
Jesus helped a
Man to Walk bible Story:
Mark 2:1-12
bible Phrase:
Jesus loved people and helped them (Matthew 14: 14).
Experience! Listen as the Bible story is told. Remind your family that Jesus helped people, especially those who were sick or hurting.
Pray!
Prayer walk around your neighborhood praying for God to heal people who are sick or hurting.
Sing!
Sing the song “Give Me a J,” “More About Jesus,” or “He is Lord,” while making the letter J with your body.
Do!
Make get-well cards and mail to neighbors or friends who are sick. Let them know your family is praying for them.
People Welcomed
Jesus bible Story:
Matthew 21:1-11, 14-16 bible Phrase: This is Jesus (Matthew 21: 11).
Jesus is Alive! bible Story:
John 20:1-18 bible Phrase: Jesus is alive! (John 20: 18).
Experience! Review the Bible story and write a song about who Jesus is and what He means to your family.
Pray!
Take turns popping up and naming one reason why you love Jesus. Thank God for each of the reasons.
Experience! Open the Bible to the Book of John and review the Bible story. As a family, write a poem about Jesus.
Pray!
Together, stand with hands raised toward heaven. Pray and thank Jesus that He is alive.
Sing!
Sing the song “Praise God,” “Jesus Is King,” or “Praise the Name of Jesus.” Girls sing one time, then the boys sing, and then everyone sings.
Do!
Plan a parade about Jesus. Make signs and floats. Sing songs about Jesus. Invite neighbors to join you.
Sing!
Sing the song “I’m Gonna Sing,” “Go, Tell It on the Mountain,” or “I Love You, Lord,” and make up motions to the words.
Do!
Make “Jesus is Alive!” bumper stickers or door hangers. Give them to your neighbors and friends.
Breakfast With
Jesus bible Story:
John 21:1-17 bible Phrase: Jesus gave His disciples food to eat (John 21: 13).
Experience! Cook your family’s favorite breakfast. Eat together outside as you review the Bible story.
Pray!
Name and pray for people who do not have the food they need. Ask God to help you help them and tell them about Jesus.
Sing!
Sing “That’s Why We Praise Him,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” or “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” as if you were the choir at church.
Do!
Shop for food for a needy family. Deliver it to them, letting them know that you love them.
